“My small but mighty company”

Aly B. Ettman, Founder/Producing Artistic Director

Aly received her theatrical training primarily in NYC at the renowned Michael Howard Studios, where she studied for five years with master Acting Instructor, the late Peter Thompson, for whom this company is named. She also received training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and NYU. Her intensive training coupled with her experience working in the New York City theater community both on and off stage, transformed Aly’s passion for acting into a passion for the craft of theater and all its elements. This made her transition from actor to director quite seamless and she has directed over 30  productions over the last 15 years from Youth Musicals to Pulitzer Prize-winning dramas. Aly is also an experienced acting instructor, who has taught hundreds of young performers as a director and private acting coach in the Washington, DC area.

With Peter’s Alley, Aly strives to mentor fellow artists in their pursuits while fulfilling her own artistic goals as a director, actor and producer. Her main goal is to consistently provide a collaborative, supportive, and highly professional experience for all involved in every aspect of production. Her focus is always on the craft, on telling the story and creating meaningful human connections. An artist first, she has either directed or performed in all 13 of the company’s productions over the past five and a half years.
